Request for Technical Assistance
The Department of Public Works (DPW), through its Technical Services Division and under the direction of the Secretary, is charged with providing technical assistance to government agencies throughout the CNMI. Pursuant to NMIAC § 30.3-115(i), the “supervision, inspection, and administration of construction contracts (including architect-engineering services) shall be performed by the Secretary of Public Works or his designee, unless the Secretary certifies that the expenditure authority has the capability to handle its own construction and architect-engineering contracts.”
DPW can assist your agency in determining which firms are qualified, which offer the best plan and price, and which are the most responsive bidders. To initiate this process, please complete the A&E Assistance Request Form and submit it to the Secretary of Public Works, together with a cover letter describing the nature of your request.
For best outcomes, agencies are strongly encouraged to submit their requests at least six months in advance of the anticipated project start date. This lead time ensures adequate planning, review, and procurement in compliance with CNMI regulations.
